Immutable and Polygon Partner to Create the Future of Web3 Gaming

Two leaders from different spaces of the same technology have joined forces to develop a new front envisioned for enhancing gaming innovation in the industry. The leading Web3 gaming platform, Immutable, and the top Blockchain platform for Ethereum Scaling, Polygon Labs, have come together to accelerate Web3 adoption in the gaming industry. Polygon and Immutable have collected approximately $2 billion in funds for this alliance. That adds up to the expectations from this specific workforce merger.
With this partnership, Polygon will power Immutable’s flagship platform products. The goal is to use Polygon’s ZK protocols to offer better access to digital assets globally. In turn, the Zero Knowledge protocol will simply be an autonomous organization and develop a safe choice for developers and gaming entities to offer a better, more liquid, and more accessible Web3 gaming ecosystem. However, the root problem lies with the quality of Web3 gaming experiences that needs high-quality and enterprise-grade platforms & tools to gain adequate scalability. This collaboration will ease Web3 game development and support a better experience with true digital asset ownership.

Robbie Ferguson, the President and Co-Founder at Immutable, said, “By combining the #1 web3 gaming platform – currently serving hundreds of game studios and millions of players – with Polygon’s best-in-class zkEVM technology, we are building an Ethereum-centric gaming ecosystem that is poised to take web3 mainstream and bring digital ownership to millions of people around the world. Billions of dollars of skins are sold each year with no rights for players – we’re changing that, so players are in control, and ownership is the expectation.”
This partnership between Immutable and Polygon will deploy a new Polygon-powered ZK roll-up, Immutable zkEVM, to be used as the core to develop a gaming experience with Web3. These games will be better and faster and pose less risk to developers and gaming studios. There will be zero transaction fees and a safe, secure, robust security model. Both organizations have generated massive growth in the last two years with various partnerships and alliances to speed up development and adoption.
Ryan Wyatt, the President of Polygon Labs, said, “Partnering with Immutable is a monumental step forward in our mission to empower developers and enable users to own their in-game assets. By leveraging Immutable’s top world-class gaming platform, game development becomes seamless, allowing for the creation of rich and unique gaming experiences.”
Immutable has brought more than 140 new tiles on its existing platforms and has brands on board like DC Comics, GameStop, Marvel, TikTok, Disney, Star Wars, and several others. Polygon’s efforts can be seen in its growth rate. They hold a significant market share in Web3 gaming ecosystems with studios like Neowiz, Square Enix, Plai Labs, Midnight Society, and Tilting Point. The brand has registered a tremendous growth rate of 94% in usage activity from 2021 to 2022.
