Framework Ventures Unveils $400M Fund to Expand in Blockchain Gaming

Leading investment firm specializing in cryptocurrencies, Framework Ventures has launched a new venture capital fund worth $400 million to support its expansion plans. With its third venture capital pool, Framework has managed to reach a whopping $1.4 billion in the Assets Under Management (AUM) category. The highly-acclaimed investment group is looking forward to strengthening its position across the fast-developing decentralized gaming industry with the newly-infused capital of the fund.

According to the report, Framework Ventures will invest half of the collected amount to explore the potential of blockchain gaming projects. The remaining half will be focused to expand operations related to new-age technologies such as DeFi and Web3. Framework Ventures has been actively proliferating into the decentralized asset industry with strategic investments and innovative steps.

The project emerged as one of the highly-ranked beneficiaries during the ‘DeFi Summer’ phase in 2020 when the industry soared to some all-time highs after facing a long period of lower returns. Now, with the latest fund, Framework is planning to further its interest in blockchain gaming and related projects.

Talking about the fund, Framework co-founder Michael Anderson stated that they that Web3 gaming has the highest potential for growth within the blockchain space. The spearhead seemed confident about the success of blockchain gaming in the near future provided the industry gets the necessary infrastructural support. The constant enthusiasm amongst gamers depicts the wide scope of opportunities for the e-gaming domain.

He added that, back in 2019, when the first fund was launched, DeFi was at the center of focus in the blockchain. However, this has seen a shift to blockchain gaming with the subsequent development in Layer2 and non-Ethereum solutions. The team strives to follow the trend and focus on areas that entrepreneurs favor. There has been a significant surge in the popularity of blockchain games alongside NFTs and Web3 technology. Framework Ventures is an active supporter of Decentralized Finance and continues to expand its work within the cluster. The team has made strategic investments in the Chainlink oracle network, The Graph, liquidity providers like Tokenmak and Aave, etc. Earlier, Framework supported play-to-earn game studio Illuvium to mark its presence within blockchain gaming. The firm is striving to position itself as a strong player in DeFi, blockchain gaming, and Web3 while giving stiff competition to other top-ranked entities in the space.
