However, the world got a chance to see where the world is headed, but NFT enthusiasts didn’t seem impressed. The NFT lovers took their disdain to social media.

A well-known series of NFTs produced on the Ethereum blockchain is called the Bored Ape Yacht Club. NFTs, or non-fungible tokens, are cryptographically distinct tokens linked to both digital and physical content that serve as evidence of ownership. The blue-chip status symbol typically sells for several thousand dollars, and more prominent celebrities are joining the trend. According to the decentralized applications analytics website Dappradar, the Bored Ape collection currently has a market capitalization of $1.2 billion.

Some people voiced their complaints on the Eminem reddit community, which has over 214,000 members. There were at least a dozen discussions about the VMA performance, but few of them were positive, and many of them made fun of the NFT collection’s appearance on screen.

The creators of Bored Ape Yacht Club, Yuga Labs, grant each individual NFT’s owner a broad license to utilize the image they own. The campaign to include digital collectibles in news outlets continues even though there is ongoing criticism of NFTs and Bored Apes Yacht Club—for instance, over the ecological consequences of minting NFTs.
Similar Bored Ape projects in the works include Seth Green’s forthcoming animated series “White Horse Tavern,” which is set in a society in which NFTs coexist with humans.
